dark hallways

A few nights ago I woke up at about 1:00AM because I had to go to the bathroom.  I went down the hallway to the bathroom at the other end. And just so you know at night the only light that is on is the bathroom and usually the main hallway light and so all the rooms that I pass have no lights on so it is kind of scarey.

Any way, the hallway light was not on for some reason and it was so dark and scarey that night that I did not want to get out of the bathroom because it felt safe inside. So I just stayed in the bathroom with the door closed. It was about half of an hour later when my Dad woke up and knocked on the bathroom door. I must have startled him when I bolted from the bathroom so quickly because he jumped. His eyes were wide and asked if I was alright. I said yes and just looked at him with relief on my face. He must have guessed from that because he asked how long I had been in there. I said a long time. He asked what was I doing (probably checking me for mischief but I am not like that - my brother Brett is). I said I was sitting on the toilet lid. He could tell from my response that I was a little scared.

He gave me a big hug and took me to my mom and I told her what I had been doing. She felt really sorry for me so I pretty much got a free pass to, Mom and Dad's room for the night!
