-Comic Books- Not Just Superheroes and Funny Animals-

When people hear the phrase ‘Comic Book’ the characters that come to my mind are Superman, Batman, Spiderman and other such characters. Some people think of silly books that they read as kids Asterix and Obelix, and Mickey Mouse. What most people do not think of are great works of fiction and fact such as Maus, Fax from Sarajevo and Bone. All of these are well crafted and written. I would like to open the eyes of the reader of the glorious world of comic books and graphic novels.

Books to Movies

Dear Reader,

In this post I will write about books being made into movie. I will start with the worst and move to the best. First, Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief. I had read the book before hand and I liked the book. It was not the best but it was ok . The movie was terrible it stunk if you have not seen it... DO NOT! It was really crapy. The next one which was ok was the Chronicle of Narnia trillogy. I saw them in theatres and I liked them when they came out. The best of the best is and foever will be The Lord of the Rings Trillogy directed by Peter Jackson. They are amazing the epicness is off the charts.

Alvin Maker

Dear Reader,

In this post I will write about Orson Scott Cards Alvin Maker series.  I found when I was telling a friend about Enders Game and he asked who the author was. I said it was Orson Scott card and he got excited and said this and I quote. "He also wrote another series that I love it is called the Alvin Maker series.' I said I would try that series not really interested-ed at all. I got the First book form my local library. I read it and loved it. The plot was fascinating. The characters were fun. It was amazing. I would recomend it to anyone over fourteen years old.

Sherlock Holmes

Dear Reader,

In this post i will write about the master detective Sherlock Holmes. I started reading Sherlock Holmes when I was ten. At that time I thought it was boring. I drudged through The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and I did not enjoy it. During this last summer my library was having a book sale and there it was... Sherlock Holmes. Of course I bought it instantly. When I got home I could not put it down. The plot was easy to understand. The mysteries were intriguing. I loved it. I say that you should start with a Study in Scarlet. It is the first and the best.

Games

Dear Reader,

I have not posted for a long time, and I am sorry about that. In this post I will write about games. I will start with Catan. Me and my family have been playing Catan for years and we really enjoy it a lot. The game play is'nt to complex and it keeps your mind active. I rate it with four stars. You can now play it online at http://www.playcatan.com/. The next one is Chronicle. We got chronicle at the beginning of this year and we are hooked. It is my absolute favorite game so far. I give it five stars. We also play a not so fun one called The Resistance. That game is not so fun. it is slow amd not much thought. I am currently looking into RPGs.

Project Gutenberg

Reader,

In this post I will tell you about Project Gutenberg. Project Gutenberg is a website were you can get free e-books. The awesome thing about this is that it is all legal. The only books that are on there have no copyright. I use it for my Amazon Kindle. Most books come in two or three different languages.

Ender's Game

Dear Reader,

Today I have decided to review Enders Game by. Orson Scott Card in full detail. It is in my modest opinion the greatest science fiction work in existence. It is soon going to be a motion picture. I first read Ender's Game when I was eleven years old and I didn't realy get it I thought that it was coll but I did not see the psychological part of the story. In the beginning of the book Ender(who is six years old) is leaving school and a gang of six year old bullies attack him. He politely asks them to let him through but they just start shoving him around. He tells the head bully (Stilson) that he can not take him on alone so the bully and Ender fight.

Journal Entry #11 WEEKEND

Dear Reader,

I could not help reading a little. The company departed with Loial in tow. They meet the Greenman. I went to my local public library to pic up some books on Middle-Earth and Narnia. Then I thought it would be fun to start learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons. I am using the Dummies Guide. It is very helpful. No I am not a dummy.

Until next time,
